Khalief Khadafi
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Khalief is a yoga teacher, breathwork guide, and co-founder of Casa De AUM, a yoga ashram and wellness center in Mérida, Mexico. His path to teaching was forged through a near-death experience that left him with torn ligaments, a fractured spine, and a 50/50 chance of survival. He recovered without surgery through fasting, meditation, and breathwork, and never looked back.
Khalief developed an approach to yoga that integrates the four dimensions of the mind into the four dimensions of asana. He leads Teacher Training programs and has built a global community through the Yoga Chitta Community, training and certifying teachers across the world from Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Atlanta, to Mexico, Belgium, China and the Carribean.
A lifelong student of Pan-Africanism and Kemetic philosophy, Khalief has felt a deep ancestral connection to Egypt long before he ever set foot on its soil. It was a performance there that marked the turning point from his music career to his full surrender to the yogic path.

Pack lightweight, breathable clothing for the warm days and a jacket or sweater for cooler evenings, especially in winter. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for exploring historical sites. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses to protect against the sun, as well as a reusable water bottle. For visits to mosques or conservative areas, modest clothing is recommended. Don’t forget your swimsuit and a power adapter for Egyptian outlets! (Type C or F).
