This experience is designed for travellers who want to move through Egypt at a softer pace — waking to river views, exploring sacred temples, enjoying meals on board and settling into the slow rhythm of life on the Nile.

Choose between two route options depending on your travel dates, preferred direction and overall Egypt itinerary: a 3-night cruise from Aswan to Luxor, or a 4-night cruise from Luxor to Aswan.

3 Nights / 4 Days | Aswan to Luxor

Day 1: Arrival in Aswan & Cruise Check-in

No. This itinerary is designed as a flexible Luxor & Aswan cruise experience, not for one specific vessel only. It can be arranged with a range of Nile cruise and dahabiya options depending on your preferred style, budget, dates and availability.

What is the difference between the 3-night and 4-night route?

The 3-night route usually runs from Aswan to Luxor, offering a shorter but still rich journey through the major highlights of the Nile.

The 4-night route usually runs from Luxor to Aswan, giving you a slightly slower pace with more time on the river, additional stops and a more spacious feeling between temple visits.

Is this a private cruise or shared cruise?

It can be either. Dahabiyas can be arranged as a private charter, especially for families, groups or retreats, while other options may operate as a shared scheduled cruise. We will recommend the best option based on your group size, dates, budget and preferred level of privacy.

Are meals included on board?

Yes. During the cruise, meals are usually included on board, typically breakfast, lunch and dinner according to the itinerary. This creates a smooth and relaxed experience, where your accommodation, meals and river journey all flow together.

Will there be a guide for the temple visits?

Yes. Guided visits can be arranged with a professional guide or Egyptologist who will bring the ancient sites to life through stories, historical context and local insight. This makes the temple visits much richer and easier to understand.

Is this itinerary relaxing or very busy?

The experience is designed to feel balanced. You will visit some of Egypt’s most important ancient sites, but the rhythm of the Nile naturally creates space to slow down. Between visits, you can enjoy meals on board, watch the scenery, rest on deck and settle into the slow rhythm of river life.

Is the hot air balloon included?

The hot air balloon in Luxor is optional and can be added depending on availability, weather conditions and your preferred itinerary. It is one of the most beautiful ways to see Luxor, especially at sunrise.

Can the itinerary change once we are on the Nile?

Yes. Minor changes may occur due to timings, navigation, lock schedules and sailing conditions on the Nile. These adjustments are normal for Nile cruising, and our team will always work to preserve the overall flow and quality of the experience.

Is this suitable for families or older travellers?

Yes. This itinerary can work well for families, couples, solo travellers and older guests. Some temple visits involve walking, steps, uneven ground and heat depending on the season, so we can adjust the pace where possible and advise you properly before travelling.

What should I pack for the Nile cruise?

We recommend comfortable, breathable clothing, walking shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat and a light layer for cooler evenings. For temple visits, modest clothing is recommended. If your itinerary includes swimming stops such as Herdiab Island, bring swimwear as well.

Can this be added to a longer Egypt itinerary?

Yes. This cruise works very well as part of a longer Egypt journey. It can be combined with Cairo, Siwa Oasis, El Gouna, the Red Sea, or other custom extensions depending on how much time you have.
